Who is responsible?

Yesterday I had a very awful experience watching a little puppy getting killed. I was in my car driving on the road when I saw it. Little being trying to find someone who took care of him. I was gonna stop but I saw two women walking near it. Since i was in my car with my baby and on the road I said to myself "this women will put it in a safe place". But for my surprise ( I was watching through the little mirror in the car, driving home already) they just stood still watching how it started to cross the road. So a car came and ran over it. Lots of emotions invaded me. I felt bad. I felt angry. I felt sad. I felt guilty. I went on driving. Crying.

So now that I have the opportunity to be calmed down I think: Why do people abandon the animals in first place? Why don't they just sterelize their pets? Why don't they even give the animals their shots? .

It all comes down to  basic care. I saw on the TV hundreds of people against a provincial program to put to death 10 thousand dogs that were sick (In a matter of 3 years). That sickness is trasmited to humans. But people stood by the best's human's friend and finally the program was cancelled. Wouldn't it be easier if we defended with so much emphasys that owners took care of theit pets and go to veterinarian to give the dog's shot? We blame the goverment, we blame the big companies but when it all comes down to our daily-practise we do nothing. If those dogs had the shot in first place they wouldn't be sick. And they wouldnt be a menace for public health. Now who is gonna take care of those animals?.

Of course Im agaisnt killing. But I am ProLife. And we are the ones responsibles for having our pets. We need to learn that taking care of their health is also part of that responsibility, and if you really love your pets you can't let them reproduce as their will. Because they have insticts and they will always  follow that instincts.  You can't be so unfair to help little beings to come to this world to later be ran over by a car or dead of hunger. That is way more cruel than killing a sick dog. Not making health prevention and obligue a being to live its life sick its more cruel than killing a sick dog. But when it comes to practise most animal lovers forget about it. Of course if a japanese big company kills a whale there is a big fuss... but who buys the whale meat? It isnt the company. Its people. Like you, like me. We need to start making changes for our animals. And every change starts from you: Teach people about animal health prevention; If you find a dog or a cat and you want to give it on adoption make sure the new owner sterilizes it or do it yourself; Don't pollute it will affect you and the rest; Be coherent. And of course. Give your pet all the love you can give, because with pets you can always expect to have same love back.

Ostara

Spring comes, bright colors emerge from everywhere you see. Beautiful, close your eyes and smell.
Flowers? So sweet. A mix of peach and apple scent makes you take a deep breath. Then you hear the birds singing, they are playing below the rising sun. You lay down over the grass and you are in peace. Who would have imagined that the collision of million of years and events will end up to this magical moment?

How to Make your Own Ghillies or Irish Dancing Soft Shoes

Final Product

Introduction

If your product is not elemental, create a need. Well. I had the need, and the product was not here. It seems that Ghellies or Soft Shoes used for Irish dancing are not very popular in my country. And me living in a small town apart from the whole word does not help my situation.

That's why, with my teacher encouraging me I decided to make my own Ghillies.

Difficulty of craft: Medium
Skills you need: Sowing and Patience.
Time required: 3 hours at the most.

What you need:

*Basic dancing shoes

*Lace of Polyester fabric 60 centimeters or 24 inches long and 1.5 cm or 0.5 inches wide.

*Elastic String (2 meters or 6.5 foot)

*Sowing Machine (You could do it by hand but it will require lots of patience)

*Black thread

*Heat from a Candle or a Stove.

*Dry soap or a pencil that can mark fabric and can be erasable.

Procedure

1) Remove the cotton strings that came with the shoe by pulling it tightly from one side.

2) Measure the polyester lace and cut little pieces of 3 cm. each or 1 Inch. You should have at least 20 pieces (You will have more but its just in case something happens.). Its 10 pieces per shoe. Note that I used 8 pieces
cause i wear a small size shoe and for the wide of the lace it looked too packed. I preffered them to look more neat. If you want to wear it with 10 pieces and you have my same problem use a less wider lace (like 1 cm or 0.45 inches more or less.)

Pieces of the lace.
3) Burn in the stove the side of the laces that might rip. Just get the side close to the fire (not into the fire, the heat will melt the fabric when you get it a little close). This procedure should be very fast because if not the fabric will turn out to be very stiff and will break.

Preparing the edges of the laces.

4) Fold the laces putting both edges together. Sow the border so you end up having a little curl. Do this with all 20 laces. The seam can be straight one.

Sowing the folded Lace.
5)Place the laces where you will want them on your shoe. Mark it with the soap. Put the other shoe in line with the marked one. Use a ruler to make the marks at the same height than the previous marked one.

Curls already sowed.    Marking the layout.       Marking at same height in both shoes.

6) Sow the laces in the middle first. There are 2 middle Laces in each shoe. On the front and the back. The one of the front is the most difficult one. You have to twist the shoe in order to sow from the inside part of it . Use a small zig zag seam for it. If you like where its placed reforce it by a second sow.

7) Cut the elastic String in half and finish your shoes!!

Place the string and your Ghillies are ready!!!

Fresh new start

Hi there!! Well this is akward. It's been a while since I last put myself to writing. As everything its an excersice that requires practise.

As I just wrote in my "about me" section this blog will try to show you in different ways my interests. I plan to introduce you to my little home projects and write articles, gather information, show you pictures. Anything that helps me share you the experience I got so far. Of course they will exist people that know more, that are more instructed, and I am eager to read their experiences too. That's the only way we can grow. I hope I find people that love the things I love as me and we enjoy them together.
